General Use

Chromebooks are given to student to utilize as a learning tool. Please refer to the Family Handbook to view the Technology and Internet Use guidance for students and families.

Computer Use Agreement

Herein referred to as the property, subject to the following terms and conditions:

Name and purpose of loaned property. The above-described property of the School is being loaned to the Parent/Legal Guardian for the exclusive use of your student, a pupil of the school. The property is to be used for School educational purposes only and may not be loaned or transferred to any other person. The School is not liable for any data or content resident on this computer other than that loaned by and through the educational programs loaned by the School.

Term of Loan of property. This property is on loan and term shall commence on delivery. Term shall terminate upon the date of student withdrawal, or as of the date the student is no longer in need of the property as part of their curriculum. The property must be returned in a fully operational condition. The School may demand redelivery of the property at any time prior to the termination date by giving Parent/Legal Guardian two (2) days written notice, in which even this agreement shall terminate when the property has been redelivered to the School.

Delivery and Acceptance. Delivery of the property shall be made to Parent/Legal Guardian at 82 Second Street, Yuba City, CA.

Safekeeping and Maintenance. The Parent/Legal Guardian shall exercise due care for the safekeeping and maintenance of the property so that it shall not be damaged in anyway, and assumes full liability for loss and damage from all causes except damage due to ordinary wear and tear or the inherent nature of the property, to the limit of the value declared above for the property. No person including any technician licensed or not is to open, add to, remove from, or in any way tamper with the computer equipment except those technicians authorized by the School. The Parent/Legal Guardian should attempt to back-up any critical data from the Hard Drive before said unit is sent in for repair. The School cannot be held responsible for any lost data in the process of making any necessary repairs. 

Title. Title to the property is, and shall at all times remain in the name of the School. The property shall not be transferred or delivered to any person without written consent of the School. In the event that any action is filed in relation to this agreement, the losing party shall pay to the prevailing party, in addition to all other sums he or she may be obligated to pay, a reasonable sum for the prevailing party’s attorney's fees.

Entire Agreement. This agreement constitutes the entire understanding of the parties, and no representations or promises have been made that are not fully and forth herein. The parties understand and agree that no modification of this Agreement will be binding unless such a modification is in writing, duly accepted and executed by both parties.

Damage Check-Ins

Staff will have students complete a Chromebook damage report every Wednesday in Advisory and will report any damage to administration. 

Repair Cost

If damage to the Chromebook is determined to be caused by abuse, neglect or intent, payment for repair will be the responsibility of the student or their household.

  • Screen - $75 
  • Keyboard Assembly - $50 (individual keys will NOT be replaced)
  • Charger / power brick - $30 
  • Replacement Chromebook - $300
