The Board of Directors meet on a regular basis in order to develop policies, approve the budget and assist in making major governance decisions regarding the school operations. The Board of Directors is the decision making body for AeroSTEM Academy. The Board is comprised of community members and parent members. All meetings are open to the public.

With over 20 years of experience across diverse industries, Jen Chaplin is a dedicated small business consultant and HR expert committed to operational integrity. As the founder of The Chaplin Method, she leverages her extensive background in hospitality, construction, and private security to help entrepreneurs navigate California’s complex labor laws and streamline their daily operations. Jen is a graduate of the SBA’s THRIVE program and remains a lifelong learner, focusing on reducing waste and improving team engagement. Her mission is to empower the “backbone of the state”—businesses with fewer than 20 employees—by transforming operational “dread” into efficiency. Beyond her consulting work, Jen is a passionate advocate for education and serves as a devoted parent within her local school community. Her unique blend of technical insight and human-centric leadership helps business owners build profitable, compliant workplaces where employees truly thrive.

With nearly 18 years of experience in education and technology, I am a dedicated advocate for AeroSTEM Academy’s mission to prepare students for the future. My career has provided me with deep insights into effective leadership, rigorous curriculum development, and the importance of fostering intellectual curiosity through the lens of aerospace. As the parent of a fifth-grade student at AeroSTEM, my commitment to the school’s success is both professional and personal. I have seen firsthand how the school’s innovative STEM environment empowers students to excel in the 21st century. I am eager to leverage my expertise to ensure AeroSTEM remains a high-quality institution that meets the evolving needs of our community. I look forward to collaborating with the Board of Directors to support a supportive, engaging learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

Dallan Reese
Bio
Dallan Reese is a retired U.S. Air Force officer and current Southwest Airlines Captain with over 16 years of experience as a military pilot and instructor. A founding member and current Board Secretary of AeroSTEM Academy, he holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Military Operational Art and Science from the USAF Air Command and Staff College. Deeply committed to regional aviation education, Reese serves as the President and Young Eagles Coordinator for EAA Chapter 1593 and sits on the boards of the Northern California Aerospace Initiative and the Veridian Symphony Orchestra. As an active FAA-certificated flight instructor and long-time volunteer for the “Adopt-a-Pilot” program, he leverages his extensive technical background and ties to the Beale Aero Club to foster a culture of excellence and STEM-focused opportunity for students in the Sutter County community.

Joe Borzelleri

Joe Borzelleri is a dedicated aviation advocate and the founder of the non-profit Sutter Buttes Regional Aviation Association (SBRAA). Since 2014, he has managed the day-to-day operations of the Sutter County Airport, achieving consistent solvency and elevating the facility to its highest operational standards in its 70-year history.As the Region 2 Vice President for the California Pilots Association, Joe oversees a vast territory across Northern California. He is a vocal proponent for protecting local airports and frequently speaks on their vital role within the National Air Transportation Infrastructure. An astute problem-solver and collaborative leader, Joe also serves as a Registered Nurse and chair of a Universal Practice Committee. He is eager to leverage his leadership in aviation management to support the AeroSTEM Board
