Proposition 28
Proposition 28 (Prop 28), also known as Arts and Music in Schools Funding (AMS), passed by California voters, aims to supplement arts education and promote "more arts for more kids." AeroSTEM is committed to this vision, striving to build and expand robust arts programs across all grade levels.
AeroSTEM is aligned with the state's intentions for Prop 28 funds. We have used planning template which transparently outlines the full AMS funding amount dedicated to developing and implementing arts programs, ensuring funds will be used in accordance with the program's purpose.
Using Prop 28 funding, our charter has implemented a comprehensive arts education program that provides dedicated instruction in visual arts and music for all students in grades 5-12. This includes expanding access to introduction to computer science, music production, digital media, photography, and drawing. The program aims to foster student creativity, build cultural competency, and provide opportunities for artistic expression across multiple disciplines.
